The EDD is a carbon-neutral event. Each year, the European Commission compensates their ecological footprint by investing in certified carbon offset projects. The 2021 EDD led to the emission of 208 tons of CO2, which the European Commission will offset with climate actions in Zambia and in Guatemala. Find out more about the projects here.
